Availability + my ISP's folks really knew how to turn GTE's crank. The rate, $80 for 768K bi-di, install + modem free was pretty competitive at the time, a year ago. I also pay $10 for 500Mb units over 500Mb/month ... rarely.

My partner recently got a personal DSL line in addition to the company DSL line running to his basement. Is that posh, or what? DSL channel bonding? heh, heh.

I think he chose Flashcom on price ... the way I heard it is that there was no additional traffic charges.
