RE>>Calvin would have preferred to have had Servetus beheaded instead of burned<<

To be honest I believe this is a statement of mercy. It would be better to be beheaded than burned from a "pain" point of view. However some may argue that burning is more fitting of those destined to hell?

Luther to a large extent was a very hateful and stubborn man. If you look at his dealings with Zwingli you can clearly see that Zwingli wanted to please the Lord concerning the worship of images and the idolatry surrounding the Lord's supper but Luther had the "upper hand" politically and said to him that they could be friends but never brothers! That was indeed an evil retention of the way os man rather than God. however Luther was remembered mostly for what he got "right" in a very dark age.

I do not serve Luther or Calvin or any man.. I serve the scriptures and God alone. If a cult says Jesus is Lord do I reject that because a cult said it? NO ! The RC Church believes in the trinity, the diety of Jesus, heaven, and a multitude of Right things that I can not reject simply because they are proclaimed by a cult. Truth must stand on it's own and on it's own it will always stand wether and angel of heaven speak it or a demon of hell it remains true.

Do not judge God's truth by men or mankind or false churches or anything of this earth.

Judge rather God's truth by the Holy Spirit within you (if you have it )and by the very word of God alone.

I have told you nothing untrue.. Judge it by God's word alone.

Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

I thought you would have been out of the woods by now.
