What is the "street" saying about Coppermine shipments: The following from weekly report from Jonathan Joseph called "The Semi Beat"

"Supply of the 0.18-micron Coppermine remained tight while Intel announced an errata in their new Coppermine line of processors. Shipments were halted only a few days at a couple of large OEMs, with most telling us the bug was minor. Even so, Intel may have had to put most of the Coppermine processors through an additional round of tests, which might have been a major factor in the company not meeting previously promised shipment schedules. Telling, perhaps, about the contribution of Coppermine to revenues this quarter."

Otellini said that Intel is only not meeting "upside" shipment requests. This report says they are not meeting "previously promised" shipments.

Otellini promised shipment of "millions" of Coppermine processors. Even ex-Intel-employeee and Intel bull Ashok Kumar estimated a volume of only 1.5 million Coppermine processors.

Regarding the Athlon, the same report says:

"We continue to hear the company [AMD] will ship at least 1.2 million Athlon units this quarter, ahead of our 0.95 million estimate."
