I am going to here for more than a bit, trust me on that! :-)

My question about the Euro is simply this, where are all the people (I do not include you, please note) who promised capital flight out of the USA into EU after the ECB raises hiding now? Are belated excuses (which have been true for several months now and hence are not any more topical today than say 6 months back) all that they can offer?

Japan, perhaps, needs to monetize its debt. It's a shame that the world's largest creditor cannot mobilize its trapped doemstic savings. Perhaps domestic inflation - or a promise of that - is needed to resolve this problem.

BTW, what happens to gold if things do not get nasty? <VBG>
