So true, and I think this is something Spielberg misses. He relies too much on stark visual horror instead of richness of personality and character. One never quite gets into the skin of a Spielberg character, and so the points he attempts to make usually fall flat.

When the last eye witnesses die in a few years, these movies will be all we'll have left. Hope they're enough. Already a large fraction of the under 20's are at least open to the idea that the Holocaust is a myth.
