I suppose that is right, but had he been an Orthodox Jew, it is unlikely that he would have made the film.....You are correct, had he been Orthodox, the same sense of the sacred order existing on both planes, and of the importance of ritual would have been there. But the history is not there. Jews had a very large lull, between the destruction of the Temple and 1948, in the opportunity for "honorable violence", so that the imagination is not likely to be similarly enkindled, I think......
