It will be very interesting to see what CHTR actually is next December at this time. I intend on keeping this Research Alert for reference, just to see how accurate (or not) these investment firms are.

RESEARCH ALERT - Four brokers start Charter Comms

NEW YORK, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Four of the investment firms that underwrote Charter Communications Inc.'s (NASDAQ:
CHTR) initial public offering initiated coverage of the company on Monday, about a month after the cable television system's
IPO.

-- Goldman Sachs, the lead underwriter, added the stock to its U.S. recommended list and set a near-term price target
of $32 a share.

-- Merrill Lynch started Charter as near-term and long-term accumulate.

-- Morgan Stanley started the company at outperform and set a $29 price target.

-- Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette initiated coverage with a buy rating.

-- Charter, the No. 4 cable company and brainchild of Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) co-founder Paul Allen,
debuted in November with the third-largest U.S. IPO in terms of domestic proceeds. Charter raised $3.23 billion after
pricing 170 million shares at $19 each.

-- Merrill's Jessica Reif Cohen, in a note to clients, said she believes Charter has upside potential in revenue and
operating cash flow from systems acquired in addition to new services.

-- Charter serves about 6.2 million customers, offering traditional cable television services, digital cable television
services and high-speed Internet access.
