More Streaming news of interest!

businesswire.com

""High quality at low bandwidth is a major benefit even when potentially high bandwidth networks
are being used," said Stream Machine's president and CEO, Michael Canning. "Using Stream
Machine's new Insta-Replay PCI card, DVD quality video/audio can be achieved at just 2Megabits
per second, which not only reduces the stress placed on the network by the streaming video but also
enables lower cost networks to move into the era of visual communications."

DVD quality at 2Megabits a sec... Broadband, realtime video is moving fast. I'm not so sure there is going to be much time for todays streaming technology unless it has broadband built in!

TVontheWeb and Eileen Galoostian( Sp?) will be there. Dave. Guessing here that the entire INEXT staff is very busy with the launch preparations.
Bramson, of course said that they thought they could improve the picture for a year or two, then he implied broadband tech ( an area Ampex is extremely comfortable in) would take over. Better widespread quality will eventually help all players, don't you think? The upcoming improvement should, at the very least, aid INEXT's foothold in the shifting sands.Have a hunch it will be quite awhile before 2000kbps hookups are anywhere close to the norm though.

PS the ballistic news was interesting too.Thanks.
Man, I love this reverse water torture.
