Justa's trade for the day:

Bank One (ONE). Ride this sorry ass stock back to $38 and cash in on a 5% dividend along the way. Hey, it had its earnings warning months ago. It bottomed in October around $32 and change. Now at $33. Cheap. And then there is the takeover speculation that will light a fire under it every so often.

Chimp beating all tech funds in '99

LOS ANGELES (CBS.MW) -- Message just in from American sailors aboard the aircraft carrier Constellation. They want to know who's gonna win the race for best fund of 1999.

"Any normal person using the customary 3 percent of the brain can pick stocks just as well, if not better, than the average Wall Street expert." {Peter Lynch}

Pete the petty officer asks: "Are you going to give us an update on how Raven (the chimp) is doing against the Wall Street experts? The monkey should be beating the so-called experts hands down. Tell us how is the Monkey's index doing."

Yes sir! As a former U.S. Marine Corps staff sergeant, Navy commands get priority treatment. And Sammy, you're right. The dart-throwing chimpanzee is still beating the experts this year. Unfortunately, he's working for peanuts -- grossly underpaid compared to high-priced Wall Street money managers, who often get multimillion dollar bonuses. Unfair!

That's definitely cruelty to animals. Or, more accurately, cruelty to all the investors who continue paying the high salaries of America's money managers who can't beat a chimpanzee. Here's the standings as the pack charges down the home stretch. {Click on link to see chart}
