Thank you Jeanne for butting in. 40% may be the new world phenomenon and may be true. All I meant to point out was that stocks have the greatest chance of running up if the puts are piled up ahead. As the chart shows, there is no put activity - and that isn't a good indicator to me.

Of course CMGI is still firing. I plan to start buying puts at around 300 - so we have another 30 points to go. Besides, even otherwise a $100 rally will result in *certain* amount of profit taking at 300 I would think.

In the end - we are all responsible for our own investment decisions. I have often regretted selling too early and not maximising my profits. But my greatest regrets have been not protecting my profits because these translate to profit losses...

BWDIK ???? :-)

Happy trading.

Jeane, no butting in at all... thanks for sharing the info with us... I've been watching CMGI closely for sometime, although not as long as others on the thread, and as far as I am concerned, the PUT / CALL numbers don't mean much... I don't even try to know them.... if it rallied at one instance with a certain volume of PUTS and CALLS, there is no telling that the same will occur again... hence, I just follow the underlying... and I think that it still has fire beneath to send it higher...

and as for insurance, I did it differently, instead of waiting for the stock to rally and then spend my money buying PUTS to lock in profits, I sold deep ITM LEAP PUTS when CMGI was 80 (with effective cost if assigned of 77)... so now the stock is where it is, the LEAPS I sold have a very good chance of expiring worthless...

but hey, that is me, and since I learned a new acronym today (thanks to happy_girl) BWDIK...?

best regards
