I agree, the first half of the movie was a little tedious. The scenes leading up to the big battle are good, particularly that famous speech where he talks about, "We few, we happy few..."

I own the movie and all I replay now is the inspiring speech before the battle and the battle itself. I can't recall a better battle scene. The music is very stirring too. I don't have too many movie soundtrack CD's, but I ran out and got that one. The accompanying music to the battle is powerful.
