Hi, Lost. I have Directv's platinum package, pay about $88 a month for it, as I have the setup for two tvs. The sports packages are extra, as you know. I have the Sony equipment, because my computer guy also knows all this stuff and said it was the best. The music (MUCH) channels are great: I have a home theater arrangement in my family room, and the other tv is in a room off the kitchen, so I have the whole floor covered. Since it is digital sound, it is great. Quite a wide choice, I forget how many channels. Local tv will be about $6 extra when it arrives in January. Since I also have basic cable on one of them, I'll get the satellite service for the other. I pay $12.24/month for my basic cable for 3 tvs, plus 29.95 for internet. It's not cheap, but the picture quality is tremendous. BTW, SW Bell is offering Directv.
