I would not yet buy puts, as I feel the stock will rise with few hiccups during December. My guess is that as the split approaches the puts will become more pricey as people expect a stock to drop for a time post-split.

IMHO I think it is way early to consider buying puts. Unless we get hit by an asteroid I think a better time might be late Jan early Feb when everyone goes to Vail and liquidity dries up. I would look for a temporary top. I don't think this is it. The puts likely will be alot cheaper in the near future.
