Al, try internet explorer. I also got a white screen when I tried it with Netscape communicator 4.7. I haven't figured out why it won't work with netscape on my computer. I suspect that it is because my realplayer is in a directory called real instead of being installed in the netscape/communicator/program/plugins directory. I looked at the jazz channel and a charlie parker clinic archive. It looks pretty good. There is something different about the pixelization, it almost looks like vertical scanline interleave in columns(you have to look at it in full screen mode to see this). The other thing that I noticed was that the streaming seemed to set my modem in some sort of one way receive mode, without the need for packet acknowledgement(i.e. only the receive light was on during the whole presentation without so much as a flicker from the transmit light). Definitely something different from any other streaming videos I've looked at before (but I'm no expert and I haven't had the patience to look at many). With passable video and audio quality and no buffering breaks this is actually watchable over a 26.6K connection (definitely a new experience for me). This certainly looks promising but will need to work on any browser on any computer. Most people will simply go on to something else if they don't get a picture with the browser they are using at the moment. It's probably not a big deal to iron this out, but it is certainly a kink that needs attention. By the way, I am running win98se with all the updates from microsoft installed as they come out.
