AOL can't buy ATHM. There are many reasons why not, but the biggest one is that it wouldn't pass DOJ scrutiny. If government is willing to pursue MSFT for non-competitive dominance, why would it allow an even more dominant aggregation? It would be interesting though to see how local municipalities and Ralph Nader would react. You know they would herald the move as "in the interests of all the people". Never underestimate the hedonistic self-interest of the caring liberal elite.
