Bob--I am perfectly willing to admit that E*Trade's service isn't perfect, but neither is the service of any other OLB. What I find tiresome about Diamond Jim's posts--at least when he can't access E*Trade for whatever reason at the time (some or many of which may be E*Trade's fault)--is that they merely are representative of him venting his spleen, not of anything that adds anything to our knowledge of the stock.

The first 10 posts referring to "E-Turd," "E-Crap" and "E-Trash" went far enough for me. I didn't, and don't, need 30 more of the same...

Yes, Bob, Jim has a point, and as a shareholder who does not have an ETrade account, I am honestly grateful for reports on technical problems and service issues. I also am not an active trader, so do not experience trading at difficult-to-trade times, thus I do not have first-hand experience with the kind of frustration that Jim and many others go through. I expect I would get pretty pissed off, and rightly so. (Heck, look how peeved I am getting over a little bit of derogatory language!)

All I ask is that the namecalling stop. I feel that the namecalling is inappropriate in a discussion forum, especially of shareholders, which is why I spent the $200 bucks to be able to interact in an otherwise civil discourse. Yahoo just does not have the quality of discussion that this board does, and the chief reason is the relative absence of mudslinging and various other extreme verbal behaviors.

How about it Jim? If this were a boardroom of a company where you worked, or a shareholder meeting, or a court of law, or a senate meeting, or any other public venue, would it be unwarranted to request that an alternative to namecalling be used in the expression of strong feelings? Would you call ETrade "ETurd" and "ETrash" to our faces at an ETrade shareholder meeting? Would you continue to do it after being asked to do otherwise? If not, then why do so here, especially as my request is in no way censorious of your otherwise informative comments?

Whatever you do is your choice, of course, but in either case, thanks for your consideration of this issue.
