Solon--<<LEE Jeans were created in 1927 by LEE the Hick.>>
That Lee would be Lee's grandfather. He originally saw his family as a cheap labor source. He reassessed that idea after seeing their work habits as he wished to actually sell them. So he kicked them out in the cold, disowned them, and hired other workers. Only break he made with long standing Cooper tradition is he actually paid them for time they had been hired on.
For this break of tradition he is widely hailed as a saintly sort in the family [though a big sucker].

Solon of Athens:

And don't ya be start ta gittin winsome

As my grandpa always said?you winsome and you lose some. He was a gin runner during prohibition and would go to some Gin mill in Greece (a real loony bin he called it) and haul the gin back to Canada; then smuggle it into the lower 48 inside crates marked Lee Jeans.. One of the more exotic drops was the Toad Suck Park in Arkansas. It was there my Grandpa taught me the secret of telepathically communicating with the frogs.

Forever in Bluejeans,

Sir Dungaree, King of Fashion
