Timna Performance Requirements

In a low cost integrated solution, there is one memory source. This means the CPU and Graphics controller competes for
access to the same memory.

The majority of computers today have separate memories for the CPU and Graphics controller. This greatly reduces the
main memory bandwidth requirements. Although it is true that cost is the most important thing in low end solutions, it does
not mean memory performance can be compromised. In fact, memory performance can be even more demanding in an
integrated solution.

IMO, Rambus is the best long term solution for the integrated low end because it offers the lowest pin count and has the
bandwidth needed to support simultaneous CPU and Graphic operations from a single memory source. This is the reason
why I believe Intel will choose Rambus for Timna.
