if you shark ladies would send a little less time on SI and certain members would play a bit less golf perhaps your relatives might be rewarded....ok since it is hannakah and everyone around here has been eating these including the garbage men you two need to make these...it really isn't very hard....and if they are a little over done because you got up to check your inbox on Si well that is ok as it actually might make them better....now I expect to here that you did this.

Mrs. Levy's Potato Latke Recipe
4 large russet potatoes
2 small onions
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
canola oil for frying
Scrub potatoes well but do not peel. Slice in chunks. Layer potatoes horizontally in food processor with onions. Process until well shredded but not too mushy. Mix eggs, flour, salt and pepper with potato mixture in separate bowl. Add enough oil to frying pan so that it is about 1/3 inch deep. Heat on medium/medium high. Be sure oil is good and hot before beginning frying. Spoon potato mixture into three inch diameter circles into hot oil. Fry until golden brown on both sides, turning only once. This takes about 10 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with applesauce and/or sour cream.
