Yes, Frank, I am up and doodling around on some thoughts to post.

I have just got through reading the posts from last night. God, we are good on this thread! I stirred up this conversation on definitions, and Kings, in part because I felt we were getting too "Johnny one note" here. There are very few Gorillas to find. That is the reason that other "Gorilla Game" threads have died, IMO.

Your Genius, Frank, was in starting a "Gorilla's and Kings" thread, that gave a lot more room for discussion, without making it too broad.
Looking for new "JDSU's" will help to keep us going, IMO.

I am starting to get the impression that something wonderful is happening to the Cell phone business!

Are Carriers jumping the G2 phase of the business and going directly to G3?

I think we will see implementation of G3 a lot faster than just the technical reasons and normal demand would account for.

Why?

1)Marketing:

The Companies involved are selling to consumers, and to get them to change phones, they have to have something "New, New, New!" If one carrier in a market announces that they are going to come out with a better Internet connection, or HDR, watch the rest jump in just so they can say that they are as well hung as the other guy.

2)Human Nature:

Most of us want to be on the "cutting edge." We have to have the best, whether we need it or not. Look at the PC market. I bet everyone on this board has more computer than they really need. Didn't we all buy the fastest CPU we could get? Don't we all have 'Microsoft Office" when I bet that 99% of us could get by just fine with "works"? But will we settle for less?

We do the same when we buy a cell phone. Yeah, we want to prove the same thing as the competitive carriers! We all want to have the most up to date phone we can buy.

I posted the other day that I did not know what the top would be for Q. We are at 40 Billion. I asked, 200 Billion? 400 Billion?

Then I thought about the big "boo-boo" I made on Global Crossing. I thought it was at 385 Mil Cap and it is at 385 Bill cap.

And we have one of our gang going out to investigate a company of this size, because we know so little about it?

Maybe I am figuring too low on the top for Q's Market Cap!
