Now that we've launched the piffMd web site, I'll share a bit of my experience. My oldest son had lots of ear problems. Tubes about three times, then the eardrum didn't heal and he had tympanoplasty (doc took some connective tissue from behind the ear and patched the eardrum). His problems stopped when we finally tried testing for allergies (not at the ear specialist advice, mind you). Don't overlook this possibility!

Nasdaq, They are available at the pharmacy. I know he pharmacy in our local grocery store has them. As do some of the other companies that carry the ear thermometers.

Like Lost, I hate to see kids put on antibiotics.

I will look for the name of them for you...
