Agreed. Your call was correct; I mis-judged the market's reaction to this news. As I see, with all this e-commerce growth at which ORCL visions itself ideally positioned for new business growth I don't see the SAP switch weighing that much on the negative side. As I said, IMHO its de minimus.

One issue raised by this news is why now? My guess is that IBM business is not as good as originally envisioned & sought SAP as another outlet for their platform, & therefore made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

Another point is the PR on this news with the focus directed at ORCL rather than the supposed positives of the deal with IBM. One could take the same piece of news & put another spin on it -- like ORCL kicks SAP off the table as opposed to kicking ORCL "to the curb." See upside.com

You are correct. Its a buying opportunity & it is the more easily influenced to the PR spin that are sellers today. As we know, it won't last long. I say let them have their day in the sun. They won't see it again for awhile. JMO.
