Internet billing software and solutions today announced that edocs' BillDirect
has e-bill enabled more of CheckFree's (Nasdaq: CKFR) billing customers than
any other Internet billing solution. In addition, the company announced that
the e-bill applications it has deployed in conjunction with CheckFree are able
to manage the electronic delivery and payment of more than 400 million bills
annually. This represents more than 2 percent of the 18 billion total
recurring bills produced annually in the United States.
Since establishing a relationship in June of 1998, edocs and CheckFree
have collaborated on more than 12 complex Electronic Billing and Payment
deployments for some of the world's largest billers. The two companies offer
billers two options to connect to CheckFree next generation Genesis E-Bill
system: an outsourced option for creating and presenting bills online and an
option where billers can deploy a thin consolidator model and link bills to
