Fuddle - you are talking about this CN.B right? I think comparing this one to JDX was actually taking a shot at JDX in my opinion. However we all have different ways of putting a value on a company.

Call-Net Enterprises Inc CN.B
Shares issued 59,725,914 1999-11-03 close $6.95
Thursday Nov 4 1999
The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Nov. 4, edition that the ballooning third-quarter loss at Call-Net Enterprises has some industry watchers predicting the breakup of the company is its only viable option. The Globe's Lawrence Surtees writes that Ian Angus, president of Angus TeleManagement Group says Call-Net has to be sold in pieces because no interested party would want to buy the whole money-losing business and assume the company's debt. A Call-Net executive says he believes the company is "more valuable intact," but adds that a committee of the board of directors will explore all options. Mr. Angus blames Call-Net's dependence on the consumer long-distance market for part of its woes. Dissident shareholder Crescendo Partners says it has found 10 buyers. So far, BCT.Telus Communications is the only confirmed buyer. Unnamed industry watchers suggest two other likely candidates to buy pieces of Call-Net are Primus Telecommunications Group of McLean, Va., and MCI Worldcom of Jackson, Miss.
