November 30, 1999 Silicom To Offer Windows NT 4.0 Software Support For Pdts

NEW YORK -- Silicom Ltd. (SILCF) plans to release new Windows NT 4.0 software support for its universal serial bus, or USB, home-networking and broad-band Internet access product line in December.

In a press release Tuesday, the provider of connectivity products said because Microsoft Corp.'s (MS) Windows NT 4.0 doesn't contain the USB system device drivers and interfaces, unlike Windows '98, most USB peripherals don't offer support for the product. Silicom's software contains its USB host controller drivers and modules.

The company said it also plans to develop a Linux support for its home-networking and broad-band Internet access products, scheduled fore release during the first quarter.
