Tuesday, December 7, 1999 Newbridge Networks Corp - NP says Newbridge talks move ahead The National Post reports in its Tuesday, Dec. 7, edition that Newbridge Networks search for a buyer is moving ahead beyond initial discussions with several prospective suitors, say unnamed sources. A Financial Post dispatch to the National Post reports that two potential buyers are moving forward and a deal is now expected to be done before the end of the year. Newbridge will not say at what stage the discussion are at. Newbridge says North American telecommunications equipment companies would benefit more from buying the firm, but European companies need the technology more. Newbridge's board has a subcommittee struck to consider any bids that are received.
