Benchmarks for Athlon vs Pentium tell an interesting rambus story. sharkyextreme.com Intel's 733mhz P3 using 820 and drdram beats 750mhz Athlon in 5 of 7 benchmarks. Sharky's conclusion that the Athlon is the fastest cpu doesn't jive with the results presented. But it is as plain as day that the rambus machines are faster than their Intel counterparts as well as the competition from AMD. The benchmark battle is clearly working now in favor of rambus and will probably get better as new benchmarking software gets distributed.
