Greenspan and the Boskin Commission were pushing for the statistical revisions in CPI back in 1994-1996 to reign in Social Security, etc. Greenspan's target for statistical adjustment of the CPI was down 1.5 percentage points. Today, there was a report that there would not be enough money for Social Security and that they should raise the taxes. This, after also having raised the age of eligibility for the benefit.
