TIP SHEET:Bridgeway Aggressive Growth
Rides Cellular Wave

By BOB SECHLER

AUSTIN, Texas -- John Montgomery, portfolio manager of tiny
Bridgeway Aggressive Growth Fund, doesn't look far to explain much of
his fund's whopping 84% surge so far this year.

The fund bought wireless communications company Qualcomm Inc.
(QCOM) in May, when the shares were trading just over 100. They've
climbed almost 300% since, recently trading at 396.

"It has just been relentless," said Montgomery, who is majority owner of
Houston-based Bridgeway Capital Management Inc. "It's just been riding
an incredible wave."

Montgomery reduced his position in Qualcomm, after its climb put it at
about 19.5% of Bridgeway Aggressive Growth's $15.5 million in net
assets. But the stock is still the small fund's largest single holding, at about
12% of net assets, and Montgomery's computer models indicate the shares
have room to climb higher.

Qualcomm "has been cranking out earnings and things have just really
heated up," he said. "It picked up the cell phone peak. All of a sudden cell
phones became cheap and the service became available and average
people on the street got one."

Montgomery, 44, describes Bridgeway Aggressive Growth as a
"high-octane" fund. But it's not for short-term investors or market-timers,
he said.

Jim Willie. MACD crossover? I think they are waiting for the sun, the moon and the stars to line up---or more likely for a few decision makers to finish their Christmas shopping--or possibly for the 12/17 options expiration to pass. Who knows-not me. But we could get a nice run whenever some news kicks it off. Like a coiled spring, everything is in place except for the initial nudge.
