Dale, That's scary. You would be surprised, if we were threatened, I'll bet America's sons would rise to the occasion. Remember when the word was we were finished and Japan was taking over the USA? The WWII generation was united in defending the nation and defeating the axis. Since that time with the exception of desert storm, albeit brief, the nation has not been united in any shooting conflict. If the US were threatned again, I am confident that unity would again occur if the cause were right. We would probably even be united in spite of Bill. In Gayle Sheehys book about Hillary, however, she suggests that Bill and Hillary were not talking to each other for months after Bill confessed the Monica trist. The silence was broken when Hillary called Bill and suggested that he bomb Bosnia. Soon there after we were bombing Bosnia. Bills marital conflict may have caused bombing. Madeline Albright was suggesting to Bill that he bomb also. But this could be one of the rare times when a marital discord caused a shooting conflict. Tough for the nation to unify around that kind of thing.
