Hi Martin, Thanks for the info. Being a Fibre Channel fanatic, I strongly believe that Fibre Channel is far superior to GE. You should go thru some of the Fibre Channel links and read up on all of the advantages it has.

In the evolution of networking, the LAN was the first big thing, and ethernet was born out of that. A new paradigm is emerging based on the voluminous mountains of data that are piling up. Pressure on websites is being ratcheted up every week. Notice how often the big websites are going down these days. E-commerce and Video Streaming, convergence of the TV and the PC, and the roll out of broadband on a mass scale, will only accelerate the need for more high performance storage networks. Fibre Channel gives life to storage networks, without it, you will be dead as an internet company. It is from this paradigm, that is at it's beginning, that Fibre Channel will launch an attack on all of its better known but inferior competitors such as GE. Growth of video content and streaming will be the crowning blow to ethernet. We are getting close to converging the TV and Computer with Digital TV. At some point we will see a crossover in name recognition, where Fibre Channel will be the better known, favored choice of the general public. Interoperability of SANs will be perfected, roll out will occur, and then the battle with GE will be won shortly after that.

Good luck with your research!

Joe
