Michael,

I believe Gemstar is made up of three parts:

1) Potential gorilla as an enabler (delivering format and data to the end user)

2) Potential gorilla as an app (allowing the end user to manipulate the data)

3) Potential Godzilla as it becomes a portal allowing for e-commerce and advertising revenue.

There is a very fine point you and I agree on though for different reasons -- the issue that its enabling status is greater than its app status. I think the app side is relatively weak. All the really strong apps allow an end user to input data. Gemstar's app doesn't.
