Ed, great job recapping the SSB conf. It was a pleasure meeting you. In addition to being quite impressed with Ken and Steve, I was quite impressed with you. You have an excellent knowledge of the FC SAN space. I think it's time you quit your day job :-) Here is what I can add to your notes? BRCD: Reyes plays the part of the polished CEO quite well. Well tanned, dapper and every hair in place, Reyes mentioned twice in the first 45 seconds that BRCD is the undisputed leader in the FC switch market. "We have won virtually every OEM". I had to make an effort to hold my breakfast down, but continued to listen closely. On the slide listing OEMs BRCD had quite an impressive list. CPQ, Dell, STK, NTAP, NEC, SGI, IBM, DG and Clariion. DG and Clariion were listed separately. EMC was not listed. He said BRCD has shipped in excess of 100,000 ports. Reyes mentioned the BRCD partnership with CMNT of Minneapolis, MN. I don?t know why he mentioned that MN is the home of CMNT when he did not site the geography for any other company he mentioned. With regard to CMNT, he referenced the WAN and a gateway from FC to IP. One of the slides showed a report card from the Keylabs tests. Reyes acknowledged the tests were controversial. He tried to justify the tests by saying anyone could go to Keylabs website and see how the tests were performed and, if they had a lab, could run the tests themselves. Hmmmm?maybe I?ll do that this weekend during halftime. I noted that Reyes also said "We passed on an offer from INTC" wrt InfiniBand architecture. Responding to a question about when and how CSCO will enter the space, Reyes said CSCO would partner "with a company like BRCD", with an announcement coming as early as next week. Batting next, ANCR
