NEW YORK, Dec 8 (Reuters) - SG Cowen said on Wednesday it
started its coverage of Thomson Multimedia (NYSE:TMS) (SBF:TMM)
with a rating of strong buy.
-- On Tuesday, the company said it had developed a device -
called Lyra - to download music from the Internet that was
compatible with Microsoft Corp.'s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows media
compressor and could be upgraded.
-- SG Cowen said, "Digital convergence in CE industry
offers new growth opportunities."
-- "Partnerships enhance prospects for emerging digital
devices."
-- Thomson Multimedia's shares were up 2-3/8 at 47-3/4 in
early Wednesday trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
