Hawk has many vignettes written for her, but I've never pulled them together or expanded. She can be terribly dreary, ya know. Fighting and hacking people up all the time, thinking if she is careful to choose the good guys it makes it okay. And then she feels an impingment of honor by taking money so she lives on the bare edge. She has a whole bunch of gold stacked up now. And when she's not in battle, she reads. Fancies herself a scholar, or something. Can you imagine? Silly girl. She did get home that time and her love was there. But then she went off again and when she got back, her love had taken up with someone else. Hawk is all the time getting her heart broken. She's not real bright in that department. Dunno how she got her name. It's a part of a name of an old friend and it suited the character.
