>>I will sell some Q in January or February to pay the bills for 2000. I intend to lower my position from 100% Q to 75% Q when it hits a split price next year of 150. I will have hit my second goal by then and figure it will be time to take some bucks off the table.<<

If you're serious, and I don't believe you are -- you could look to sell options at an appropriate strike price to collect some premium income while you wait.

The reason I don't think that you're serious is due to my personal situation. I bought QCOM early this year and had a price target (pre-split of $200)-- then my price target was raised to $200 (post split) and as I kept following the company, reading and interacting with boards like this one, seeing the earnings and revenue figures, I decided to hold on -- and here I sit with all my shares, and with more added since my original purchase. My point is that as you continue to follow the Q, listen to conference calls, judge telephony progression, etc., you may decide to continue to hold all your shares as I have done.

I don't plan to sell shares while the outlook for wireless transmission is growing exponentially and as a dynamic shift to data transmission is still in its infancy. My read of the Gorilla Game leads me to believe that their is still room to run, and there will be ample time to sell out when the time comes -- we ain't close to main street.

Hello again LB,

You are going to have to tell us what you plan to put your 25% into when you do take some of your Q bucks off the table. After the discussion here has covered a multitude of exceptional companies, we youngsters want to know which companies are strong enough for you, as one of our revered thread elders, to take some of your hard earned Q bucks and invest in. (Boy, I didn't think that sentence would ever end)

you know, Lindy, I was just thinking of those "goals" of yours yesterday, and based on when I remembered the original post, my rough calculation was that 600 (150 post-split) would do for the second round. Now as I recall, your optimistic prediction was to hit the second goal by about 2003-4. We'd all be pretty surprised here, I think, if you didn't hit it by mid-2000. God, is this market incredible or what? <GGG>

congrats in advance,
