Amy, on IA-64 servers marketing:

I think a mission critical enterprise sale (for any mission critical enterprise application/product)
tends to require some level of a total solutions approach. In fact, this is exactly why Sun does so well. This is
what concerns me about Sun (disclosure: I own SUNW, but have a lot more INTC)

Are you saying that Intel should muster that total solutions approach? They're certainly not set up for that now, i.e., they don't have the sales and marketing to go into the Amazons, Schwabs, TWAs or other companies whose livelihood does depend on mission critical computing. Their partners in IA-64, HP, do, as do IBM and the other server companies lining up behind IA-64. These folks have the big systems hardware, software, applications, network, and everything else experience. How can Intel do much besides provide backup technology consulting?

Might as well kill time with blue sky while the stock languishes. But it is good subject matter. Our old Investor Relations friend, John Hull, is in server product management or marketing, one of those, now. He could give is a lot of clue on Intel's upcoming role in IA-64 systems marketing strategy, although we may not have a "need to know" yet. Still reading, John?

Regards to all,

Tony
