Neo, I agree with you that these things are accepted as truths in the Roman Catholic, and Orthodox, hierarchies but, you, and others, say "the church" as if the Catholic sect is the only Christian church on the planet. True, it was the first one organized but, it became so corrupt so quickly, that it was inevitable for people to leave it in droves for something more in line with the words of Jesus. Jesus didn't marry a bunch of bishops, cardinals, popes, monks, or nuns. The Catholic church is no more, or better, than any other sect of the Christian Faith, and their attempt to lord it over the masses is getting mighty old. The Bible clearly states that Christ's church consists of every human being that believes in Him as Lord and Savior, and that all who DO believe, and follow Him, are saints. IMO, it is ridiculous for one human, or group of humans, thinking they have the right, or the Divine power, to name another human being as a saint. Those in Rome, wallow in silks, gold, masterworks of art, gems, limousines, airplanes, bullet proof carts, and elegant dining, while the majority of their supplicants suffer in poverty and misery all over the world.

I do, and have had, many friends who worship in the Roman Catholic church and, as long as they believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, we get along just fine. The bone I have to pick is with the Vatican.
