NEC's New Workstation Boasts 2 Fast Graphics Cards

TOKYO (Nikkei)--NEC Corp. (6701) began sales Tuesday of a high-powered Express 5800 graphics workstation equipped with the new NEC TE4M graphics accelerator.

The TE4M, which consists of two TE4E graphics boards, has earned an OpenGL Performance Characterization (OPC) Viewperf CDRS-02 benchmark score of more than 70. The TE4E, with an OPC score of 37.62, is the fastest graphics board currently available.

The workstation is sold with a 667MHz Intel Corp. Pentium III Xeon processor for 2.37 million yen, or with a 733MHz Pentium III Xeon processor for 2.47 million yen. NEC plans to begin shipping on Jan. 25.

The TE4M sells separately for 1.48 million yen.

'Fraid not, it's dated 08/12/99, which in King's English-speak is December 8, 1999. They go by dd/mm/yy. However, I take exception with part of the article. Anyone tell me if I'm all wet, or out of date with the mixing of different DRAM vendors' DRAMs on the same board? If you kindly read the below post:
