I am sure its because there is a shortage of Intel CPU's.

Hell even GTW has been pummelled recently due to their inability to get extra PIII chips and thereby exceed revenues for Q4. Dells stock is being held back for same reason.

I suspect that everybody has SERIOUSLY underestimated RETAIL demand while business are running SLOWER due to modest y2K lockdowns.

If you watch TV at all (and i isually only watch Football, CNN, and CNBC) you see almost 50% of DOTCOM ads.

As only 50% of US households have a PC that has to be a real motivator for non-PC households.

Indirectly these DOTCOMS are advertising for AMD and Intel!!!

This has to be BULLISH for AMD and Intel.

I suspect the US dotcoms are probably running a year ahead of Europe/far east.

This is gonna drive extremely high RETAIL demand for next few years IMHO from the havenots as well as upgrade markets.

In addition AMD is a proxy for all the wireless guys as they will require exploding use of Flash - where it is a leading vendor.

It seems obvious that advertising is not your area of expertise.

Well that goes for me also but I do know that Best Buy advertises high volume items. Add spaces are expensive and in order to get their money's worth they must sell enough of the advertised items, unless the advertise items are used to get the buyer into the store.

AMD's Athlon's advertisment space is a clear indication that AMD is continuing to gain market share in the high end retail.
