G'day all - my colleague has finally made the plunge also [I told him about VARL the day I bought in, but he preferred to watch it for awhile] after noticing VARL is trying to form another base. Now, the pressure is on me <G>, since I would feel awful if VARL didn't break out of this base. Considering the strength though, I am hopeful that she is ready for another leap. Fingers crossed <G>!

best, B

dave --

I agree consolidation looks healthy. No steep decline. Just solid basing.

Another wireless play that was brought to my attention this morning. They're only on the TSE --- IW.TO --- but are planning to move to NASDAQ.

*will management announce a stock split early next year to create more liquidity of the stock?*

Heck, I don't know what management will do.

*I thought that VARL would pull back more to add to my position*

Market timing does not work. If it did, my friends back east that manage billions would be even wealthier. Trust me when I say market timing does not work. This is a business we are investing in not a lottery. Think about it . . . is it really rational for VARL to suddenly be "worth" 2.75 times more now than it was four weeks ago? Either it was undervalued then (which it was) or it is overvalued now (which it is not). I advised several folks to keep their positions when they were saying that they "just knew" the stock would trade down. In effect they were saying that VARL's business was headed for a tumble – what other rational reason would there be to expect a stock to decline? And if the business prospects were headed down, why would you want to buy the company then?

Folks, investing means looking at fundamentals of a business. Technical reasons for purchasing/selling a stock are generally irrelevant.

Yikes, yet another rant.
