I believe the volume dynamic goes something like this

we lost momentum going up, couldnt get much above old 406 high
second straight day we couldnt make signif new high
we came back down, couldnt get below the old 390-393 ceiling
we snapped back from 391 to 407 this morning
buyers felt as though they captured the cheaper opportunity
many might feel that this chance wont be available later

now the big new buyers are waiting to see if it comes down
they want it for less than 390, and dream of less than 380
MMakers will cooperate to attempt to bring it down again
something of a waiting game has taken root
we want buyers now to give up in the waiting game and buy big
this is a game of "chicken" where we hold all the cards

GreggM, you may be right about requiring some news
but I doubt we need as much time as you cited necessary
as time approaches the split, the waiting game favors us

meanwhile, NazComp is already showing 1.1 billion shares
the Y2K technology driven stock rally continues, or pauses

anyone got a match to light this QCOM tinderbox?
