Geez Chaz, I'll have to jump into this Tero/Chaz, Microsoft/Ericky, Qualcomm/Microsoft, Ericky/Qualcomm love-fest three-legged race. Qualcomm/Nokia too, together the world? I'm getting queasy. These three-legged things are breeding faster than flies in Australia. I prefer all out blood and guts competitive commercial warfare than this lovefest approach. Okay, licensing and all that is great. Selling infrastructure to some company who can make it hum. Buying somebody's software. But all this 'let's tie a couple of our legs together and run' business is getting out of hand. Okay, there are sack races too - let's get in the same sack and jump together. Tero is unduly harsh on Microsoft and joins the legion of those who support the 'underdog' who simply couldn't foot it in the big race. Netscape lost to Microsoft because Microsoft provided a better browser cheaper. It had nothing to do with bundling it with puters, exclusive deals or any other stuff Sun and the other whiners moaned about before getting the JJJ Mafia onto Microsoft. Microsoft simply got their cash out, made the best browser and sold it with their operating system at the same price and given away if you wanted it. Of course they formed exclusive deals and stuff like that - so do many businesses try to get those. I spent years selling exclusive oil supply deals. I am in the midst of an exclusive USA stockbroker deal [I get certain advantages if all our business goes to them]. Netscape couldn't compete. I used both for a while. Then eventually used only Explorer. Netscape had plenty of eyeball time with me and if it was better, I'd have paid to use it. Microsoft can't subsidize stuff which isn't the best. They'll lose both the new thing and the old thing. They are at risk of that getting into the WWeb world. It's big and it's fast. But they have to get in to stay the biggest company on the planet [in market cap]. IT [TM] and CDNA [TM], together the world! We'll take your Qualcomm and Nokia on anytime!! Okay, tie our legs together and let's race.... Meanwhile, don't come over all faint because you've spotted a glimmer of agreement with Tero! Tero and Chaz, together the world? Geez Tero, you must be some kind of hypnotist... Maurice
