I just tied a red plaid ribbon around the stem of my wine glass and I am toasting MArtha in her lovely new padded cell. I can't wait to see what she does with it-- I'm sure it will be trendsetting for institutions all over the country. GREAT article! I just got home from the children's pageant rehearsal--- we put the actors and choirs together, and added props. Hahahahahahaha--- In the space of one song we have to get 60 kids out of the choir loft, into robes, and back on again. They had to decorate a tree while singing. At the end of the song, the tree had a star sort of close to the top, two glittery garlands still wound around their cardboard pieces stuck in a lump on the front, and a wad of lights hanging from a branch. I laughed myself silly. I'm no help at all any more. I've cracked under the strain. The three wise men are the Three Wise Brothers. They really are brothers, 2nd, 3rd, 4th grades- dressed like Belushi. And the shepherds are surfers. I had a fight with the music director over which was stage right. One of the soloists broke her arm yesterday. Another has an ear infection, which seems to have affected her IQ.
