Bruce,

In 1998 Siebel had about 17% of the CRM market as measured by AMR Research. Based on everything repeated over and over again in the manual about applications market share, it's tuff to call Siebel a Gorilla at 17%.

If Siebel does $725 million in 1999 (my very rough estimate, not being an analyst) and the CRM market does $3.7 billion as AMR predicts, Siebel's share will grow to 20%. That's the low end of the range for an apps company that dominates a market.
