Mr. Fortune, does AB Watley not allow you to "cross the market" with island? You mentioned that it was hard to buy a fast stock with island, but actually that is what island is best for IMO.

Either one of 2 things. 1. Some stocks are not "SOES"able. Therefore, you received that message. Less than 5% aren't. Probably more like 1-2% aren't. Nasdaq and the SEC determine this. More than likely it wasn't SOESable due to how thin it is. Very small float. 2. You placed a SOES order when only ECN's were on the bid or ask. More than likely, #1 applies here, because I never saw an ECN on the bid/ask until volume started pouring in. A very difficult fill for me as well. In such a thinly traded issue, you almost certainly have to go above the ask with a limit to get filled, when only MM's and no ECN's are present. Happy trading.
