Wild-Haired Romantic More than once I was a wild-haired romantic long locks constrained, to be freed at the most dramatic of times - in a wild wind, over the sweet face of a lover. Several times I shaved my head bald as a bristly egg freeing myself from mirrors social constraints, shampoos. Looking back at photographs of my old, younger selves I see a me free of convention unconstrained by the mundane. Now approaching middle age constrained by dress shirts, ties dark suits, in my mirror I see hair curling around my ears, seeking to be free - time for a trim. Robert Douglas Hickey
