Hi Dave,

I had the same conversation as you did with pdq as they are my current ISP...only difference as far as I can tell is different backbones and separate bills,,so I opted for one sole source,,,,SWBell...Not installed yet, so I really dont know any more.

I am under the impression that if SWBell is your DSL provider than you only need one telephone line for both voice and data. However, if you get your DSL from an outside vendor then you will need two telephone lines. One for voice and one for data. As I understand it the regional bell operating companies will not let outside DSL providers use the voice line for data. I believe this rule was recently changed for business users but not for home users. Hence my suggestion is ask the outside DSL supplier if a separate telephone line is required for their service.
