I think that 'Interactive Distribution" means that (and ANYONE correct me if I'm wrong) the intelligence in the Digital Island(+SandPiper/+Inktomi/+Sun)network can dynamically shift the distribution of any content on the fly. Say you were downloading/interacting with someone on the Internet and you are getting distribution through the ISLD network- say that the traffic travelling to your computer got stuck in the network somewhere, the ISLD interactive distribution capability will allow the traffic to be dynamically and very quickly re-routed through a more efficient pipe. Also, most of this traffic (thanks to Sandpiper/Inktomi) is typically local(cached)- so whatever you are trying to download does not have to travel through a multitude of Net Access Points-(which typically is the #1 reason for Internet delay.)
