Richard,
I was thinking about the licensing strategy as well. There are several options based on their market focus:
(1) license Gen 1 model (cobalt?) type cells for Cell phones to anyone and sell laminates to them, like they do with Hanil. The risk may be the product safety.
(2) license Gen 2 (Manganese?)type cells for large lap top use. I doubt whether they would give away the trade secrets for this one until year 2002.
(3) like to know what dimensions are needed for PDA's. There is not a PO in sight for this market.

So far they have a strong cell phone market and show some indication for the laptop market. No PO yet. Perhaps it takes a lot more redesigning than cell phones. Laptop should show up for next Christmas?

About the price chart -
Most longs have jumped in from sidelines. New money started coming around 10-11 and in the last two days. Some momentum buying and margin buying are coming in. Most shorts have covered and are covering. Longs are in disbelief as to the strength of the second wave. It was expected, when it pushed through 12. Shelf offering and another PO will add to the momentum. VLNC credibility is slightly improving. VLNC credibility needs to improve further. Cash flow, order backlogs, shipments, revenues, etc. will be known in March qtr (not Dec qtr) conf call (about May) which will be crucial. Price should explode to the upside IF results are positive. Funds and institutions will join the party. The current run up may look nothing compared to the price run up in May, 2000. When funds will be impressed by 100% return, some long-term longs would realize 800-1500% gain. my speculations! Ram
